Accessibility.
We build this site to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology. WCAG 2.1 AA is the working target. The work is ongoing.
What we commit to.
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance is the working target for every page on this site.
- We treat semantic HTML, heading hierarchy, descriptive link text, and image alt text as baseline practice, written into the templates rather than added after.
- Color and contrast meet WCAG AA at 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text.
- Keyboard navigation works for every interactive element. Focus indicators are visible.
- The site does not require JavaScript to read its content. Embedded third-party tools (the scheduling widget on /schedule, the policy embeds on /privacy-policy and /terms-of-use) are exceptions with disclosed fallback paths.
- Findings are addressed in the next routine update of the affected page.
If something is not working for you.
We want to know. Email hello@betterdivorceaustin.com or call (512) 481-0330 with what you ran into and what you were trying to do. We respond, and accessibility issues are treated as bugs, not feature requests.
Third-party content and tools.
A few elements on this site are loaded from third-party services — most notably the Termageddon-hosted privacy policy, terms of use, and disclaimer, and the Acuity Scheduling widget on the consultation page. We cannot directly control the accessibility of those third-party surfaces. Each one has a visible fallback link to the canonical content, so the underlying information is reachable even when the embed is not.
What this page is not.
This page is a statement of commitment and a contact path. It is not a legal certification. WCAG conformance is a point-in-time measurement. A site that conforms today can ship a change tomorrow that breaks something. The accountability mechanism is the email address above.
